Dear dental colleagues who aspire to practice and develop in Hong Kong:
The Hong Kong Dental Council has officially announced the first examination arrangement for the 2026 licensing examination. To help everyone plan clearly, we at Cheng Hei Education have compiled a complete application schedule and a list of core materials, and based on this, we provide key exam preparation path suggestions.

1、 Key schedule for the first licensing trial in 2026

The exam schedule is tight, please make sure to plan ahead and accurately grasp each node:
  • Registration period: February 3rd to February 26th, 2026
(Reminder: The registration window is only open for about three weeks, please make sure to start material preparation in advance.)
  • Part 1 Written Exam Date: May 28, 2026
  • Exam dates for Part 2&3: July 27th to July 31st, 2026
(Tip: The written test is only about two months apart from the subsequent practical and clinical exams, and requires collaborative preparation.)

2、 List of core application materials (recommended to prepare in advance)

Please prepare the following documents in advance according to your personal situation to avoid missing the registration due to material delays:
  1. Proof of identity: ID card or passport.
  2. Academic certificate: Original or notarized copy of undergraduate transcript; Original and photocopy of graduation certificate and degree certificate.
  3. Professional Qualification Certificate (if obtained): Original and photocopy of the “Oral Practicing Physician Qualification Certificate” and “Physician Practicing Certificate”. (Current students do not need to provide)
  4. Original certificate of good reputation: issued by the graduating institution or the local health commission.
  5. Registration application form: Fill in according to official requirements.

3、 Pushing back from schedule: Your preparation strategy needs a ‘system upgrade’

Looking at the annual schedule, the traditional “stage based” preparation (such as rushing to the written test first and then preparing for practical exercises) faces huge risks. The written exam in May is closely linked to the practical clinical exam at the end of July, which essentially requires candidates to have an “integrated” preparation mindset.
  • This means that a successful exam preparation strategy must possess the following characteristics:
  • Forward looking planning: While preparing for the written test, it is necessary to simultaneously integrate training in practical skills and Hong Kong style clinical thinking.
  • Efficient integration: A systematic learning plan that integrates theory, operation, and clinical decision-making logic is needed to avoid knowledge fragmentation and time waste.
  • Full process rhythm management: From preparation of application materials to final clinical interviews, each stage needs to have clear time nodes and response strategies in the overall plan.

4、 Cheng Hei Education 2026 System Class: A Preparation Solution Matching Official Rhythm for You

In response to the above challenges, Cheng Hei Education’s 2026 Hong Kong Dental Licensing (HKDLE) System Intensive Course has been fully launched. Our curriculum system is designed to cope with such high-intensity, short cycle exams:
  • Science schedule, accurately matching exam pace: Our teaching progress (attached in the schedule) strictly matches the official exam dates. Ensure that students solidify their theoretical core before the May written exam and have already conducted practical exercises and clinical thinking preparation in advance, leaving valuable time for intensive simulation for the July exam.
  • Three dimensional integration, breaking down the barriers of exam preparation: The course is led by Dr. Shu Xin (PhD from the University of Hong Kong, registered dentist in Hong Kong), and is not simply subject based teaching. Instead, it focuses on the deep integration of written exam points, practical skills, and clinical decision-making logic, cultivating candidates’ comprehensive abilities to cope with the entire exam process.
  • Full chain support from registration to sprint: We provide comprehensive services including consultation on application material preparation, personalized learning planning, 1-on-1 supervision and Q&A, as well as phased simulation tests to help you steadily advance.
The official schedule is the blueprint, while a clear schedule and systematic training are the path to the exam room. Preparation has entered a critical stage of deep planning and efficient execution.
If you are still observing or planning for future exams, our course consultation channel is still open for you. Understand the details and prepare for the next sprint.
