The registration window is extremely tight—only three weeks—so please be sure to complete and submit your application as soon as possible. To keep you fully informed, Zency Education has summarized the core timelines, registration rules, and key document requirements below:
Timelines and Registration Rules
Registration Period: August 21 – September 10
Provisional Examination Dates:
Part 2 (Practical Examination): December 14 – December 16
Part 3 (Clinical Examination): December 16 – December 18
Combined Registration Rules:
Candidates who have passed the Part 1 written examination may choose to register for Part 2 and Part 3 simultaneously.
Candidates may also choose to register for Part 2 only.
Candidates wishing to take Part 3 alone must have already successfully passed Part 2.
Language Selection:
You must explicitly select your examination language (Cantonese or English) on the application form. Once selected, it cannot be changed, so please choose carefully based on your clinical spoken language habits.
Application Materials and Special Reminders on New Regulations
The basic application materials for this round remain consistent with the previous Part 1 requirements. However, please pay special attention to the latest submission rules for registered practicing dentists regarding the Certificate of Good Standing:
Direct Official-to-Official (Gov-to-Gov) Transmission: The certificate must NOT be hand-carried by the candidate or mailed personally in a self-packaged envelope to the Dental Council of Hong Kong (DCHK). It must be sent directly to the DCHK via official email or official mail by the issuing authority (the Health Commission at your practice location).
Email Domain Requirements: If sent via email, the sender’s email domain must clearly display an official institutional or government domain (or be an officially published email address listed on an official website).
For Unregistered Dentists: Candidates who are not registered practicing dentists still need a Certificate of Good Character issued by their university, which does not require official-to-official transmission.
💡 Recommendation: Apart from the “Certificate of Good Standing” that requires direct official transmission, we advise candidates (where circumstances allow) to personally deliver all other physical paper application materials in Hong Kong. Staff on-site will audit your materials immediately, allowing you to replenish missing items on the spot. Cross-border mailing requires notarized copies, carrying higher communication costs and return risks.
